Hello all

It's been a long time.
As you might have noticed; I have uploaded several new drawings on my deviantArt page. Sketches, drawings, told about my project "Laura's Hersteltocht" and added a commission list.
Now a lot is up-to-date on what I have been doing, these past months. I never sit still, since I love to draw and to get my ideas on paper!

But I have been thinking...
I have been working on serveral drawings, projects and so on in the meantime, but unfortunatly didn't take much time to upload different things to this website as I used to do, so long ago.
Things changed in my life which resulted in me not being that much online on this site to show art, but to look at art.
However, I still make drawings and for me this is an important thing.
It is important, because that is why I became a designer, an entertainer. I want to show you my worlds and my ideas in the hope to inspire you, make you laugh, make you feel sympathy or make you wonder.
In the end I want to get something out of it; just something that gives you a feeling that your time was valuable by looking at my work.
And for me? I just want to be satisfied with the work I put on here, the things that I share with you.

This is why I became an entertainer.
And though I might not always finish up work in a fast pace, nor upload it a lot on this site, reply to your messages or be here always to inform you on what I am working on, I still am happy to be here.

My audience is incredibly small, it might be even only one or two people. I don't know.
But to those who follow my work, who have commented on it, put it in their favourites or those who just looked at it.
Wether it was on this account or my other account

To those friends, followers and viewers I would like to say, from the bottom of my heart:

"Thank you"

Kind regards,

Michel M. Prins

New work

1 min read
Hello everyone,

It has been a long time, since I've uploaded some of my works or actually communicated via this account.
So first of: Hey there! How are you doing?
Yesterday I cleaned up my whole gallery and submitted new deviations.

But does that mean that my old work had been deleted?

In short: No.
They can still be found in my gallery folder: "Old Artwork and Fanart". I want to keep it, to show future artists how I started my work and how I improved throughout the years.
See it as a sort of: Educational purpose! :D

Anyway, I wanted to tell that.

And maybe I will upload new work very soon, maybe not. Who knows! :)

Thank you for reading!

Kind regards,

Michel

Hello everyone,

Since the first day I joined the Ratchet & Clank fandom, I always thought that I would continue on making fan related art of the famous game series. But it seems that I haven't made ANY R&C drawing in the past years and that the other R&C fans have moved on to other- and original work. That's not a problem, after all; the things we like to do can not be set in stone, right? (Unless your drawing is made in a stone, then that's an exception :XD: )

However, it seems that some of my old friends, my friends that I've met via the Ratchet & Clank fandom have vanished from the earth. That's also not a problem, everyone has a real life outside of DeviantArt and outside of the internet itself. We all "go with the flow" on our own ways and make sure that we will be fine.

However, I joined the fandom to make more art and to have fun. I'm afraid that I couldn't keep my own promise.
More than 2 years have passed since I uploaded my last Ratchet & Clank drawing and I'm deciding to make a new start.
In these past years I have learned many ways of drawing and I'm eager to use those in my newest drawing that was highly related to the Ratchet & Clank series... A character that I personally built... *choir background music* Crafted by the tablet of the beginning... A CHARACTER THAT HA- okay I'm talking about my first OC: Jamie Jackson: ansem1000.deviantart.com/art/J…
I've decided that he will get a HUGE upgrade. As you can see in the drawing that I've made in 2008; the proportions of the body are wrong, the pose is awkward and so on, and so on.
Even though I have moved on to make original work and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic related work; With the knowledge I have now, I want to get back into the Ratchet & Clank fanart and back into using DeviantArt some more, because I want to have that much fun in drawing again, like I used to have :D

I haven't forgotten about this fandom, this was where I started after all, 5 years ago.
Now I'm part of the beginning animation studios: Skynamic Studios and Oxinfree Studios and I'm still enjoying my college time and education of gamedesign, so everything is still as I'd hoped! :D

Now to all the old Ratchet & Clank fans:
How did your life develop in these past years after leaving the fandom?

Please comment on this journal and tell me about your development and if you haven't left the fandom or just took a "hiatus" on it, I'd still love to hear about it! :D

Kind regards,

Michel M. Prins

Hello everyone,

It's been a long time since I made a journal entry, right?
I'd like to tell you this. For more than a year I have been using a pseudonym and I named myself Dante William and this is the link to that DeviantArt page: danteincognito.deviantart.com/
It was the real reason why I wasn't using this account for a long time.

Let me explain: A year ago I decided to have this pseudonym, because I wanted to start from "scratch", just to see how far I could get if I completely started over and stopped worrying about my works that I signed with my real name. But I also wanted to be away from my regular drawings and works about humans, monsters, etc. So I started to focus on "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" tv-series related work and signed all of the MLP stuff with "Dante William" without letting anyone know. That way I separated my original work from my MLP work even better. I joined their "MLP" fandom, called: The bronies.

After that I joined different animation projects that were related to the tv-series:
- I was one of the character animators and SPFX (special effects) animators of the project: "Double Rainboom", the first ever "MLP" studio quality episode, made by fans and directed by Zachary D. Rich. Click here to see the official site and the episode: doublerainboom.com/watch.html
- I am a concept artist and future animator on the project: "Journey of the Spark", the first ever fan-made "MLP" film. Directed by Eric Ridenour

But I also joined an original based animation project: "Hell Hath No Hoagie" and is directed by David Hammons / Joe Stevens.
I am the animator, graphic designer and I have a lot more functions on the project. It's our goal to make an animated series and we hope that it will get popular in the future :D
Here is the first episode that we've made: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oli4ra…

As you can see, it's getting pretty serious and I can get actual job contracts thanks to these projects and I'm tired of "switching names" and just let everyone know who I am.
I'm not scared to show that I'm a brony, but I just got tired of people not knowing my real name.

However, I'm not dropping my pseudonym and you can still call me Dante if you want to, I'm okay with that. I got kinda used to people calling me Dante by now XD But you can also call me Michel if you prefer that, since that is how most of you know me =)

I want to thank MadPrinceFeanor (the first one who I told about "Dante"), ReSIStanC3larissaXarnhem andSquirrelOnAStick for keeping this a secret for so long! :D

Thank you for reading.
